AML Policy
This AML/KYC Policy explains how Wickd (operating at https://www.wickd.io) prevents money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crime, and the checks a customer may be asked to pass before funds are released. By using wickd.io you agree to the verification measures set out below.
1. Regulatory basis
Wickd applies a risk-based approach consistent with international Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist-Financing (CTF) standards, including the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the AML obligations of our licensing jurisdiction. These measures are a legal requirement, not an optional service.
2. Identity verification (KYC)
Every customer must complete identity verification before withdrawing funds. Verification may include confirming your name, date of birth, country of residence, a government-issued identity document and, where required, proof of address. We may repeat or escalate verification at any time where risk indicators arise.
3. No payment to withdraw
We will never ask you to make a deposit, pay a fee, tax or any other amount, or reach a status or tier in order to withdraw your own funds. Anyone who asks you to do so in our name is not acting for us. Report it to support.
4. Source of funds and wealth
We may ask for information and documentation about the origin of deposited funds. Until satisfactory evidence is provided, withdrawals associated with the funds in question may be suspended in accordance with our AML obligations.
5. Suspension of withdrawals
Withdrawals may be temporarily suspended while verification, source-of-funds checks or security checks are completed. We will restore access once the applicable checks are satisfied. These suspensions are made to comply with law and to protect customers, and do not amount to confiscation of funds.
6. Taxes
Customers are responsible for any taxes applicable to their activity under the law of their country of residence. We do not collect taxes from customers, and no tax payment is ever a condition of a withdrawal.
7. Monitoring and reporting
We monitor activity on an ongoing basis and are required by law to report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities, without notifying the customer where such notice is prohibited.
